Our Departure Points

Coach to Les Arcs

Snow Express runs a regular coach service to Les Arcs every week throughout the season.  The coach leaves from London Victoria Colonnade Coach Station with an additional collection point at Stop 24 Services in Folkstone.

The coach travels overnight from Calais, making comfort stops en-route, to our northern interchange point. After a brief stop the coach will carry on to Bourg St Maurice and from here we use the funicular rail link to access all Les Arc stations.  To get to the funicular, simply walk through the station, following signs to the “Funiculaire”. You will walk the length of the platform down to the “Passerelle du Funiculaire” which is a bridge that allows you to cross over all the tracks and platforms. At the other side of the bridge you arrive directly at the funicular station.  Its approx a 5 min walk

The funicular will quickly transport you to Les Arc 1600.  From here you can use the local free transfer buses to Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.  The buses are timed to meet the arrival of the funicular.

You will receive you tickets for the funicular from the coach drivers on your day of departure.

We only use luxury executive coaches which meet our high standards for comfort and safety. During the journey we make regular stops to change drivers and an opportunity to use the toilet and stretch your legs. You can find more information about our vehicles in the Our Coaches section and more detail about safety in the Coach Safety section.

Les Arcs is very much a purpose built ski area, with the emphasis on convenience of skiing. Les Arcs is made up of several villages, Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 2000 and Arc 1950. They are fairly easy to get between either by skis, walking or the resort bus.

Les Arcs is famous for its speed-skiing track above Arc 2000, the setting over the years for a number of world records. For a modest fee anyone is allowed to have a go from a lower starting point that keeps your speed down to a sensible level. Les Arcs was a pioneer of snowboarding in Europe. The terrain park is situated between Arc 1800 and Arc 1600.
